How Well Do You Treat Your Body?
Throughout my life I have actively been finding different ways to exercise, and have always considered the ramifications my habits will have on my body. It has been engrained in me that the way I treat my body in my youth will set the standard for how my body will treat me as I age.
Always drink plenty of water.
Do regular cardio.
Incorporate healthy ingredients into my meals.
Get enough rest.
We think about our heads, hearts, lungs, and more but do we ever really think about our legs?
Take Care Of How You Get There
Too long have we struggled wearing heels all night resulting in aching feet, or stood around all day at work just to feel our legs feel heavy.
We may care about our bodies but we cannot neglect our legs, and the damage we put onto these body parts that actually get us places!
What Can We Do?
The footwear specialists Scholl’s have recently launched a new product into the market that are both fashionable, and functional. The Scholl Light Legs Compression Tights has Fibre-Firm technology that provides gradual, and targeting compression across the ankle upwards. This allows relief to our strained legs by making them feel lighter while also making an outfit chic.
The Scholl Light Legs Compression Tights are also built to last everyday use as they will not lose shape, or colour within 100 washes, which is great for women in jobs that require long periods of sitting, or standing.
Why Is This So Important?
Prolonged sitting is incredibly detrimental to our health, with scientists estimating that if you spend 10 to 20 years sitting for 6 hours a day (lets say, at your workplace), you have lost around seven quality years off your life. Prolonged standing isn’t exactly a great alternative either, with a Charles Stuart University study finding that people who stood for 6 or more hours daily had either a pooling of the blood in the legs, leg swelling, varicose veins, nocturnal leg cramps, preterm birth, or cardiovascular disease!
That’s why I’ve been giving myself the easy challenge of wearing the Scholl Light Legs Compression Tights every day at work when I’m wearing a skirt, or dress. I’m pretty much sitting at some form of desk at work in the marketing department, boardroom, or around a cafe table to plan the next concepts for an upcoming campaign. It’s incredibly important that I use compression tights regularly to try minimise the damage I get from a all this sitting!
